Hey everyone! Molly here!
A couple of weeks ago, we photographed Sarah and Stephen’s wedding in Brunswick. We had already photographed these two, so we knew they were very photogenic and spunky.
I loved the colors these two picked out. Again, I’m a huge fan of gray suits, and they looked so good with Stephen’s eyes. (Hope that’s not as creepy as it looks when I read it back)…Anywayyyy. I loved the moment when Sarah and her dad first saw each other. You could tell both of their families were really close. You can read more on how they were involved in the engagement at the bottom of the post ! Also, could not get over the reception location. We had not shot there before, but it was pretty perfect!! I mean, except for that snake .
A thankful note:
( Sarah’s brother is also a photographer and helped her out with knowing what would be good- timeline and location-wise. He was super helpful and never hovering, and we are very appreciative of this 🙂 ).

Their sweet engagement story:
Thanksgiving is always a special holiday for Stephen and Sarah because they both love being with each other’s families. Little did Sarah know that this Thanksgiving was going to be even more special and her dreams of marrying Stephen were finally going to come true! 11 days before Thanksgiving, Stephen managed to get to Sarah’s house without her knowing to ask for her parents blessings and to show them the ring. All of the family says that was the longest 11 days to keep what was about to happen a secret!!
Thanksgiving Day finally approached and Stephen went to Sarah’s house to celebrate and have lunch with her family. Stephen left shortly after lunch to go back to his house because his family was starting their Thanksgiving meal. Sarah still wanted to spend some time with her family since she doesn’t get to see everyone that often. The afternoon kept going by and Sarah was still at her house spending time with her family. Her immediate family kept asking when she was going over to Stephen’s because they knew the special plans that he had. Sarah kept ignoring them and saying, “I’ll head over there shortly.” If only she knew what was to come, she would have been at Stephen’s house first thing!!
Sarah finally made her way to Stephen’s house and they were just finishing up their Thanksgiving meal. Stephen’s family has a tradition to go for a walk around the neighborhood after eating the big Thanksgiving meal, so the family proceeded to keep the tradition going and went for a walk. After the walk, they were all sitting around sharing stories and having dessert and coffee. Stephen has a passion for softball and in September of 2013 his softball dreams finally game true. His team went to Panama City, FL and won a National Championship ring. For the next 2 months, all Sarah could hear Stephen talk about was his “ring”. She was very proud and excited for him, but Sarah was really hoping she would get her ring soon too!
So on Thanksgiving, Stephen was showing off his “championship ring” that he finally got in. Sarah was a little upset because she still didn’t have her ring! After the family congratulated him on his accomplishment, Ashley (Stephen’s sister) said Crosby and Kimball had a Thanksgiving production they wanted to share with everyone. This was something that Crosby and Kimball would do so Sarah didn’t think anything different of it. Next thing Sarah knew, Crosby comes out with a green shirt on and Kimball comes out with a pink shirt on. The front of the shirts had a heart in the upper left hand corner and inside the heart, Sarah sees SC2. Stephen came up with the slogan for them in Hawaii since they both have the same initials and it has stuck ever since. Sarah was still very confused about what was going on and why Crosby and Kimball had the shirts on. Crosby and Kimball then walked over to Sarah and turned around so she could read the back of their shirts which said, “We love our Aunt Sarah!” The kids have called Sarah, “Aunt Sarah” from time to time and although Sarah LOVED it, they always corrected them and told them that they can’t call Sarah that until Uncle Steve and Sarah are married. Sarah was still very confused on what was going on and the next thing she knows, Stephen is on one knee asking her to spend the rest of her life with him! Sarah could not believe what was happening and was in shock! Sarah immediately said “yes!”. And then asked, “What about my family?!” Stephen’s family filled her in on everything and that all of her family knew! She called her parents who were both waiting on her phone call because they knew the phone call would mean it had happened. They visited with Stephen’s family for a while after it happened, and then visited with Sarah’s family! It was everything and more that Sarah and Stephen had both dreamed of when imagining how their engagement would happen!
