Hey everyone! Molly here!
A few weeks ago we photographed Jessie and Zach’s wedding in Albany. It was such an honor to be chosen to photograph their day because you see… Jessie has fired me before… like 8 times. When I was 15 , I got a job working for her dad who owns All American Fun Park in Albany. My brother told me “When Buddie is serious, you’ll know because he raises his eyebrows…and that’s really all you need to know” . So on my first day of work, business was slow and Buddie handed me a toothbrush and told me to scrub the baseboards. I smiled, thinking it was some sort of weird initiation , but no. The eyebrows shot up. I scrubbed the baseboards. I worked at that job for 5 + years. It allowed me to buy my first professional camera and my first MacBook. I made so so many good friends. Buddie was a hard boss, but I will be so happy if my kids have someone in their lives like him when they are older. He taught me so much about business even when he didn’t know I was watching. And some things, like how to markup products and charge for services stuck. Woven in between the hot days making pizzas and chasing kids off the zebra , were the days when little Jessie would come plop herself on the counter and ‘help’ by choosing what we ordered out of the oriental trading catalog for the ticket counter or cutting the to do lists (very crookedly) . Some days, she would fire you for no good reason, but you could be rehired if you gave her a sour patch kid. I can’t believe this silly little girl who has picked up approximately 5,000 pecan orchard sticks and raised 47 german shepherds has grown into this fiercely beautiful young lady. And now she’s the boss her dad once was, so I know she’s learned so much from him too. So Zach…if she is ever in a bad mood just read her some jokes from Laffy Taffy wrappers ;).
