As an advocate of family photos, I (Molly) vow to have as many family photos as my future kids can stand. ok, well at least every 3 years. I will never dress everyone in matching white shirts.
I really do not *love* any family photo of myself or my family from when I was growing up.
They were usually taken at church, and I usually wore something that was 2 sizes to big for me. My mother still encourages me to dress this way. I’m not sure why, but she is always telling me my jeans are too tight.
I do appreciate the fact that my mother never let me get glamour shots, or let me take photos with a creepy giant easter bunny, or put me in front of the “80’s lazer” background.
But that’s beside the point. The main bullet point of this presentation is that my family photos were always pretty awkward.
And I know what you’re thinking…”Mine too! Mine too!”
Well, someone out there has devoted an entire website to awkward family photos.
It is bluntly names awkwardfamilyphotos.com :
I would rate it ..like PG-15ish…maybe you shouldn’t look at it with your kids. There was one photo on there that was HILARIOUS but everyone had furry naked suits that were anatomically correct.
Featuring family photos like this:
Or really creepy pregnant couples…like this: I almost threw up on that one.
Book with us and your family photos WILL NOT be awkward! hahah.
LOL! those are awesome!
The furry naked suit will haunt me in my dreams.
Hilarious site!
YES. I had the church family photos too – only with horrendous flowered dresses with oversized shoulder pads. Shoulder pads alone are terrible…but oversized…really? I’m super thankful for the photographers that don’t jar your neck opposite your body to “make the shot”! Although, I’m still not sure exactly what purpose that served. Sorry. Long comment from someone you don’t know! I just ran across your page through the Love Affair Workshop page.
