Sam + Dustin :: Ponce City Market Photo Session ::

A couple of weeks ago, we photographed Sam and Dustin at Ponce City Market and Oakland cemetery.  I might have teared up a couple of times thinking about this session.  Background.  I’ve known Dustin since we were about 5.  One of my earliest memories was when he got temporarily kicked out of our private Christian school for bringing a nintendo magazine with a dragon on it. We both thought it was ludicrous that they thought it was a demon. Later, we both moved schools and he sat behind me in Geometry class. We discussed his Russian girlfriend, who I didn’t think actually existed (but once he showed me a picture of her…as she was walking away hahaha ) . We had several classes together and some with our good friend Sam.  I had met Sam when I transferred schools in 6th grade. It was terrible going from 30 people in one grade to 200, and I started to cry on my first day. Sam turned around in her adidas shirt and said “why are you crying?” in her most ‘dry it up right now!’ kind of voice.  She’s always been there for me and always been my ‘ what’s wrong with you? dry it up!’ girl , and she’s the best advice giver I’ve ever known.  Anyway, fast forward. My husband lived with Dustin, and then my husband lived with Sam, and they were both in our wedding… So you see…we all go way back.  I remember in high school, when Sam had her first serious boyfriend, she told me “I will NEVER get married.”  And I honestly believed her all that time. I’m pretty sure she thought I was crazy for getting married too.  So you can imagine my shock when one day, after she and Dustin started dating, she said “I can see myself marrying him”. Like I’m pretty sure I had to pull the car over and catch my breath.  And then later, my husband came home after a guys weekend and said “Dustin was talking about proposing to Sam!!”  and then nothing happened. We kept waiting and waiting. We were pretty impatient .  But finally, he proposed. And I cried. And they are getting married in December. I honestly couldn’t be happier for anyone. Love you guys!!!
