Hey everyone ! Molly here!
A few weeks ago, we photographed Laura and Jeff’s beautiful wedding at Gin Creek. I love then we have a couple that we totally mesh with. These two were so much fun and I loved how much genuine laughter they had around each other and their friends. I especially liked Laura when I asked her to step back “because she had some funky sun on her” and she said ” oh, you mean dappled light! ” . YES! That’s what I meant. These two are botonists, and I’m kind of bummed I couldn’t go back to Colorado with them and go hiking.
I think I’ll share their proposal story, because I love the way he worded it. I think that when my child gets old enough, I’m going to teach her to love the ordinary as well as the extraordinary– or maybe to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. In Laura’s words:
“After graduate school, we decided to move to Colorado together despite a dismal economy and unlucky job search up to that point. After 3 months of living out here in Denver, we went on a walk by the local creek with our dog Hudson…as we do about 3 times a week. We still hadn’t found steady jobs and were distraught about our career outlook and money was super tight. We were talking about that situation and how despite the lackluster situation we were glad that we had each other and knew that we were happy together despite not having steady jobs or much money and living far away from Georgia. That’s when I turned around on the trail and there he was on one knee! He said some beautifully sweet words and how he would love to “spend the ordinary” with me for the rest of his life. It was a total surprise! Now we still live in Denver and both love our (now steady) jobs.”
