Last month, we photographed Jess and Daniel’s wedding on her parents’ land in Thomasville. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed working with these two and their families. I walked into her parents’ house on our first meeting and immediately loved this girl. Drawings and paintings everywhere. Then, a cat came up and rubbed on my legs. She was a cat lady, too! Then she started talking about Daniel and what the two of them liked, and she sounded quirky. And we love quirky. Then…she showed me where they were thinking about having the wedding. A giant Oak with lots and lots of spanish moss. As you know, C and I both love trees and moss. Needless to say, we were pretty excited about the wedding day.
On the day of the wedding, the family kept telling us how happy they were that we were there, and as we were doing bridals early that morning her dad rode by and yelled “GO Red Fly!” out the window. We’ve never had anyone root for us like that before. I even came home and told my husband about it. hah!
July had been one of those months where you look at the calendar and you think” Wow, that looks pretty dead”. Then you get a ton of calls all at once and suddenly it is August. Thanks for being patient (to all of our clients) !
First, I’m going to show you some of Jessi’s artwork. The first is a graphite drawing..not a photo. CAH-RAZEE. The second, is a huge painting of Daniel.
Jessi and Daniel gave out kittens as their favors. These were edible kittens (see bottom right photo), but most people chose to just love on them a little (see bottom left photo).
Just kidding :). These were the guests of honor, J.D. and Turk. (Jessi and Daniel’s kiddos) ..this was as exciting as the ceremony for me.
