Hey everyone! Molly here!
A few weeks ago, Cristina and I photographed Brooke and Daniel’s wedding in Albany . The whole day was peaceful, and their family and friends really pitched in to make it special. I had so much respect for Daniel and Brooke before I even met them. She had shared parts of their story with Cristina, and it was quite a different path to marriage than most people take now days. Daniel got to know her family first, and then asked her father for permission to get to know her better. In Daniel’s words ” Brooke and I began to write emails back and forth. During this time it was important to both of us as we were trying to discern God’s will, not get romantically involved. It was our desire to get to know one another as brother and sister in Christ. This was some of the most meaningful time for us as we sought God’s will in our relationship. ” After much courtship, and prayer they continued to get to know one another. In Brooke’s words ” On December 31, after getting a friend of ours to take him up 3000 feet above our neighbours’ farm in his small plane, Daniel pulled off the proposal of all time by parachuting into the cotton field, getting down on one knee and asking me to be his bride. I said yes, of course, apparently three times, according to Daniel:) Oh, and the story of how God worked out the opening in the clouds for him to jump when it did not seem there as a chance is another testament to His faithfulness. ” Brooke and Daniel were such sweethearts and so were their families. They also shared there first kiss during their ceremony!
