Hey everyone! Molly here!
I first talked to Luke about his portraits in September. He told me he was a photographer (<link) and Emie was a wedding planner (<link). EEEK! Talk about nerve racking. It’s always a little bit strange-feeling to shoot someone who knows their stuff (technically-photographically-speaking). We have shot people who THINK they know what they’re doing :), and we have shot people who definitely know what they’re doing. Let me tell you, there is a difference in the way my nerves do between the two. I wasn’t too nervous once I actually met these two, but before-hand I was. Don’t tell Cristina, but I’m kind of a pessimist. When we got to Forsyth Park, there were tons of people and a LOT of sun. It seemed like there would be people in the background everywhere we shot, so I’m glad we had a chance to look around before they got there. Once we scoped things out, and these three got there, I felt a lot more relaxed.
Once I start doing what I do, I forget the questions I had before “I wonder if they think I’m weird if I ask them to do this…” etc. Plus, Emie had a great laugh, and I wanted to take Hudson home with me. We talked shop with Luke for a long while, and we really enjoyed it. I hope we can do it again soon! We also hear that Emie is quite the cook, soooo… yeah. I’m hoping it’s sooner than later.
Oh Hudson, your puddles of rolls make me love you.
Girls,
I thought you were great. Wonderful. Amazing to work with. Emie is beautiful, and Hudson is adorable. You even made me look great! Your approach is very personable, and you girls are both wonderfully talented photographers, and I am so very glad that after looking in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Charleston, and even Birmingham, that I found you. Your styles are different from my own, but you are both artists and passionate about your work. It shows!
I don’t give idle praise or make insincere offers, and I really would like you to stay with us the next time you’re working in Savannah or the surrounding area. Emie really is an amazing cook, but I hope you’ll see for yourself soon!
I loved these photos. They captured the essence of both Luke and Emie, their personalities and joy they share together and with their adorable pooch, Hudson.
