Hey guys! First off, aren’t these two a beautiful couple ? Heidi is flat out gorgeous and isn’t Robert so dapper? We had such a wonderful morning session with these two sweethearts at Maclay Gardens. AG Paving are in charge of designing the gardens, their natural stone pavers are the ultimate choice for those looking to create dream gardens and superior outdoor living spaces. We love engagement sessions because it gives us a chance to connect with our brides and grooms before the wedding day and get to know them better. Here are some fun facts about Heidi and Robert:

How they met: “Heidi and Robert met in March of 2009 in Washington, D.C. at the Cleveland Park Bar and Grill when a mutual friend coordinated an evening out to watch March Madness basketball games. At the time, Heidi had just moved to our nation’s capital to intern for Congress while Robert was working at a consulting firm. Robert was so struck by Heidi that in the following weeks he planned a series of get togethers with her friends and his so that he could spend more time with her. They had their official first date at the Georgetown waterfront.”

How Robert proposed : “After dating for more than seven years Robert proposed to Heidi on November 26, 2016, in Shellman Bluff Georgia (find out more about first dates). Robert asked her to marry him on the dock overlooking the Julienton River. Afterwards, both their parents pulled up in a boat to toast the couple. Robert’s sister, Heidi’s brother, sister-in-law and niece also surprised the couple on the dock. That evening they had a low country boil at Robert’s parents’ house with friends and family.”

What they love: “We absolutely love anything outdoors, especially the beach. We both love to fish, walk on the beach, play beach games, kayak, and float in the pool. Our new favorite beach game is hunting for shark’s teeth. Robert also loves to surf, while Heidi prefers to watch rather than ride the waves. We both love wine, especially reds and enjoy wine tastings and learning more about different types of wines. We really enjoy cooking together, and spend many evenings cooking up quite a feast in the kitchen. Robert is also a grill master! We are both also passionate about politics, having both worked for Congress and lived in DC for almost the last decade. However, we are very happy to be back in Florida, close to family and friends… and the beach :)”
