Hi Everyone! Molly here!
Cristina and I were invited to photograph the most relaxing wedding ever… ahh. It was so nice to see everyone relaxing and absolutely loving the company of everyone who was there. Mischa, Zane, their families, and a select group of buddies headed to the mountains of South Carolina to celebrate their nuptials in an intimate and truly original style.
When we arrived, we couldn’t get enough of the view…and neither could their guests!
Everyone stayed in the lovely Stoneburner Cottage, and well….it has a story. Everyone knows I love a good story…especially a GHOST story ::makes creepy laugh::.
So, here goes…you know the Biltmores of the Biltmore Estate, right? Well, let’s just say that George Biltmore had a bit of a fling with a woman named Marietta. They would meet at the Stoneburner Cottage for said affair. When word of this affair got to George’s wife, Edith, she ordered the cottage to be closed and disposed of. Rumor has it that his mistress, Marietta, was so distraught over the thought of ending their romance, she jumped from the rock ledge just east of the cottage. She was never seen again. On cold, windy nights, some say her wails can still be heard from the dismal below and as far away as the neighboring town of… Marietta, South Carolina.
Mischa made a mountain cake for Zane after we all chowed down on some Steak.
Beautiful Bella came along, but DID NOT like the stuffed mountain kitty on top of the piano.
The sunset was amazing…It provided the perfect backdrop for a good get-together of friends.
After I threw a pillow at Cristina, we all got a good night of sleep and woke up bright and early for Mischa to begin getting ready…
Well, you know us and ring shots! I think C took this one! LOVE it.
Ceramic feet and deer feet, perfect for rings.
(No deer were harmed in the making of this ring shot)
She’s so cute!!
Ok, let’s go get you guys married!
Note: This was the shortest ceremony known to man. I believe it was all of 5 minutes…haha!
Mischa and Zane added a special touch to their ceremony.
An old Indian tradition, the butterfly release, was added.
“As the Indian Legend Goes;
If anyone desires a wish to come true they must first
capture a butterfly and whisper that wish to it.
Since a butterfly can make no sound, the butterfly can not reveal
the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit who hears and sees all.
In gratitude for giving the beautiful butterfly its freedom,
the Great Spirit always grants the wish.
So, according to legend, by making a wish and giving the butterfly its freedom,
the wish will be taken to the heavens and be granted.
Today we have gathered to grant this couple all our best wishes and are about to set these
butterflies free in the trust all these wishes will be granted.”
Then we all had a bit of fun with the beautiful view as the backdrop.
Then, everyone of their guests joined in!
Mischa and Zane are HILARIOUS! Holy Crud, they are funny.
Except…we had a hard time keeping Zane’s attention.
We aren’t his BFF. 🙁
He has the most gorgeous eyes, no?!
We all went back to the cottage for a beautifully decorated and perfectly intimate reception.
Even grandpa was there (in spirit)!
Now THIS is how you throw a bouquet !!!!
Stay tuned for Mischa and Zane’s portraits.. and a very cool trash the dress session!
What kind of cake was that? A "mountain cake" you say?? Hmmmm….
