Emily + Austin :: Southwood House Tallahassee, FL Wedding Photographer ::

A couple of weekends ago, we photographed Emily and Austin’s gorgeous spring wedding at Southwood in Tallahassee. Honestly, we came out of last year a little beaten down. We were a bit burned out and ended the year feeling like we were just going through the motions of the day, but we didn’t want to just fall out of love with weddings so we prayed for a cool relaxed couple to lift our spirits.

Cristina went to Yeah! Field Trip and I’ve been soaking in the fleeting moments of my kids every day. What we both came to the conclusion of, was to stop concentrating on the pinterest boards and what others wanted and do what we were really hired to do — which is tell the story of the day. We are both story tellers in our own right, but in different ways. When I read Emily and Austin’s questionnaire I knew I would love them. Emily seemed hilarious and Austin listed every single one of my favorite bands (except the used, copeland, and something corporate ). To say they were a blast would be an understatement. Maybe it was the weather, or the fact that I actually got a full nights’ sleep without having to get up with a baby, but I kind of felt like skipping all day– ok so it was the energy at the wedding.

It was THE PERFECT wedding to start the year off with, and I’m so thankful that we could be a part of their day.
